Well, after our Translating Advisor has informed us that Japanese high schools have terms instead of semesters, we have decided to rename our releases to include "2nd Term" instead of "2nd Semester". For those holding on to the 1st episode, just rename it to [WF]_School_Rumble_2nd_Term_-_01_[7365B6B1]
Just a little info on the Japanese Academic term: The reason why we used "Term" is because Japanese schools run on a 3-term school year. 1st term: April 1st to Mid July 2nd term: Early September to Late December 3rd term: Early January to Early March (varies in different parts of Japan, due to different lengths of seasons) If we used "Semester" and in the event of a 3rd season of School Rumble, we would be forced to rename that as "The 3rd Trimester" since semesters only come in pairs. i do wonder though, why is it called ni gakki? didnt their ni gakki technically start in ep17, when miko-chin got her hair cut?

Hmmm good that the reason for the switch is explained, but don't u think it should now be called something like School Rumble Term 2 instead? 2nd Term sounds... odd.

This actually makes a little more sense to us Brits, as we have 3 'terms' to a school year also (at least back when I was at school, may be different now).
Few Brits would know what the word 'semester' was, unless they heard it on TV, so this actually makes more sense to many people who may have wondered what the heck you were talking about! Suppose we could stretch this into a hint that a 3rd season is on the way, though it's a little early for such speculations (plus I suppose it depends on how well this season does. I'm already buying the R2 DVD's to support the cause). |

The Japanese school system is almost identical to the English/British school system. We use terms, years, class, etc.. and so do they!
Even their school structure is the same , primary school, secondary school, college and finally university. It makes a lot more sense |
