Komugi, the popular nurse from Soul Taker is back, this time she plays the leading role on her own anime. Only this time, it`s a magical girl comedy anime

The story started when a destructive virus, ANGU (literally means retarded), from another dimension escaped and headed toward earth. The troubled goddess ordered Mugimaru, an apprentice of animal protector, to go and capture the virus.

One day, on earth, Nakahara Komugi is working as a newcomer costume play idol at Ikebukuro event. Suddenly, Mugimaru who is hurt from the virus attack, fall down near Nakahara. Nakahara (who is in nurse costume) then tends his wound. Mugimaru is touched and impressed by Nakahara who tends his wounds, so he decides to give her a magic baton and explains his mission to her. I enjoy your subbing of Komugi chan so far, but there are still a few details I'd like to find out...

If I follow the information you've given here, there is a total of 5 episodes (not including episode 2.5 as a whole episode, I take it?) to the series. Although, only episodes 1 through 4 have been subbed so far, are we to expect the fifth and final episode subbed from WF in the near future?

Well I haven't personally watched this though I've downloaded soultaker and the komugi torrents here. I'll wait till its complete.

Also is WF going to do the komugi tv series?

I checked back to make sure and episode 2.5 really is part of the episodes WF has subbed. I don't quite get why it's called 2.5 though, half of the episode would be a normal episode followed by 3 consecutive 'music videos'. It's quite odd really.

I've also been waiting for its completion before I can stash it somewhere, hence why I was wondering how things were going to unfold.

Do you have any info on the TV Series? Sure hope WF's gonna take up the project, could be interesting!

Episode 2.5 was basically a promo for the Komugi OST and 100% Shiyou Albums. It was full of music videos... which was hell for us Karaokeing. Just to note. this episode had quite a history.

It was WF's very first release !!

Episode 5... probably not going to be released.... I don't know. It is licensed, but then again not many people know about us, and so we don't usually get the attention of licensors and such. We like to do it more for the heck of it and fun of fansubbing, but in anycase, if you like it, please do buy the DVDs.

About the TV series. there is currently something known as Komugi Z. However, because of the SR fever, WF won't be looking at that anytime soon.

Yes, there is episodes 0.0,1,2,2.5,3,4 and then you get the Komugi Daisakusen which was an extra on the dvd's i think, It is 3 episodes long and done like a H-game...I really loved the series, Can't wait for Komugi-z to be subbed.

Watching SoulTaker first is very, very unnecessary. I've done the same mistake before watching Komugi-chan and now I realise I could easily have lived without it.
The initial 'hey I know that character from Soul Taker!' reaction fades fast and you realise they have barely no link whatsoever to what they were in Soul Taker.

So there's an episode 0.0? Jesus, can they get any more marginal?
I did check the three littles teensy episodes, they're nothing special... the dating-sim episode is worth a few smiles, but the other two didn't really stand out to me.

Ah ok, but I'll wait for 05 to come out so I can watch it in one sitting.

Anyway, I really, really hope you will do the 5th ep too. It is a bloody marvelous series that deserves better than to be left hanging, I'd say it is virtually risk-free and you do have the other eps available anyways. ..

You know, me too. I really really want this ep to be out. I used to be a Komugi fan, that's why this was our very first project. But don't worry, we'll do something about it once we catch up on SR... I hope.

Anyways, i wanted to make sure that Wannabe is planning to finish Komugi-chan Magikarte after they finish SR. I, like Eizo, absolutely fell in love with this series after the first Ep, and would love to finish it, considering i have seen all of the episodes released. I really need this assurance.

Actually, this whole morning was spent by me looking on countless websites, trying to find another, already fansubed, version of Komugi, but unfortunately, all of the other groups who did this are very difficult to get at, both through BT and IRC.

It's no surprise since Momoi Haruko (the CV for Komugi) is the lead singer for Under 17. The majority of the songs of Under 17 are for the ero-games such as Milkyway, Ichigo Da, Fake by the comany 'Witch'. The OP song of DearS and Tenbatsu Angel Rabbie is also by Under 17 as well. There are quite a few other animes with the songs done by Under 17, but I can't recalled them.

Anyway, I've just watched the 4 episodes of the OVAs, I must say this anime really made me laugh.....especially I actually recognise thse parodies. WF manage to explain most of them but they did miss out a few (since some of the parodies used are from animes that are quite old, so I guess it's not surprising that people from WF don't know them all).
The custome that Koyori transform into is actually a paro of The 'original' Tekkaman, which the anime was aired in like 70s.




And I was laughing so hard when Komugi transformed into Casshern and Gatchaman.

i justed watch ep 4 and i think there is a mistake on one of the side notes.
on around 5:14 parody is most likely of Excel Saga then Lupin III because the guy look EXACTLY like one of the characters and Excel Saga is a anime about Making fun of anime. so it make sense to put that guy in.

I noticed that mistake as well. That's Nabishin....a quite well know animation director(?).....his 'animated version self' always appear in anime that he's involve in.

Are these episodes the same as ADV's release?

Hi I registered just to post for Komugi-Chan too. WF please don't give up on finishing epsiode 5!! It's not one of Media Factory's anime's so there shouldn't be a problem, right? Or is Komugi already licensed in the US?

I just watched the episodes and it was great... it sure was good that this was subbed(since this won't be coming in our place for who knows)

The R1 DVD was released long ago. Why not buy the DVDs if you people like this series that much ?

I see nor real point in releasing the last episode since there's possible to buy it or download DVD rips completed by 2 different groups.

It's listed as released on January 29. A fake file wouldn't last this long on the tracker as somebody would have reported it. The WF staff aren't all jokes

If it's still on animesuki then it's not licensed. So far nobody has finished it yet. The first OVA series is licensed so "technically" they shouldn't be listed on the trackers anymore due to standard fansub policy but that's up to WF.

I hope some group gets to subbing the Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarte Z episode 2.
