I finally found some inspiration to start drawing again. It's been 1 year and 3 months and 13 days since the last time I've drawn. It feels pretty good to start over again. I'm not as good as I used to be 'cause I haven't practiced in so long.. But I thought I'd show you guys what I came up with. Took me about 45 mins to an hour. Didn't really pay attention..

Edit: I'm not really sure what the random dots are on the image... I think my scanner had some dust in it. Haven't used it in a very long time, haha.

I'm surprised I haven't gotten any of those "Ok, it's not that great. You need to fix her eyes. One is pointier than the other. Her face is too wide, making her look too young.." kind of responses. haha.

Hmm.. how can i describe this.... ITS BEAUTIFUL =] I like how you did her eyes, i can never shade like that.. Just outa interest have you taken art lessons?

Wow, thanks. No, I've never had any art classes or lessons. (Well I had art class in elementary school lol but that doesn't really count.. we never learned anything. )

Haha, and you can draw that good? I'm jealous I never taken art classes in my life either, i can draw SOMEWHAT decent but thats all lol. But I never posted my drawings anywhere cuz i dont have a scanner =[.

Haha yeah, I was like that for awhile. I was without a scanner for a long time. Maybe you can use a digital camera?

My friend's dog thought it was a chew toy.. and now lens are like super-uber-crappy (due to constant licking of the lens.. i think?) so i don't think so.

Hmm..to be honest, I..like it!

But of course, no fanart is perfect--unless it's your own version/style of the character, or you just own--so here are some things I noticed that are either good or not, depending on the perspective:

It looks like the young version of Yakumo at first glance, and the similarities are very similar.
Her left eye looks a little strange, and it's a little less shaded for some reason than her right. Not trying to sound too insulting, but it kind of makes her look cross-eyed. To be honest, I like the left eye better than her darker eye, simply because it's closer to the manga.
Last of all, but not least, unless she's the young version, Yakumo would look great with a longer face and nose.
Her hair looks pretty awesome, and the shading looks great too. And I also like how you captured the shape of the face.

These are my opinions as a non-artist but I hope they help. And I'm a fan of Yakumo because she's just awesome, like your picture I want more!

Thanks for the feedback man. Now that you mention it, the two eye's darkness levels are pretty different. I didn't even notice lol..

Hm.. very genuine indeed. I remembered Ya-mo [young Yakumo] in the recent manga release... ur pic may represent the "gap" between her child and teen age.. it is indeed looks younger, but that makes yours unique from tons of Yakumo fanart out there. Nice one Harima..!
