Just want to have your opinion on this:
Since I'm starting something next week I was wondering what you guys would like...
1. The Moving Classroom - a forum RPG that takes place within class 2-C. A set of events are given each "School day" in which the players can choose to take part in. Kinda like Harvest Moon.

2. Yagami Fantasy Forum RPG ver. - fantasy RPG with SR characters. Plays like a multiplayer choose-your-own-adventure book, except that a player has an influence over the outcome of his/her actions. Haven't pinned down the exact mechanics yet though.

3. Yagami Fantasy Fiction ver. - a fantasy-themed SR fan fiction.
Any input would be appreciated.

Flames will be refuted with trash talking. Thanks.

1. If you really put effort into it and are willing to manage the thread every day, this could become something. Otherwise it'll die like several others I've seen on multiple forums, including this one.
2. I predict it'll be too chaotic to manage in a few days. Plus the disputes between players who try to interact to each his/her advantage and fail to reach a consensus over what happens to who afterwards, especially in case of character conflict. Even if you do find a solid system, it'll be a living hell to manage.
3. Tried that. Ran out of ideas after a few months. Mine was a one-man project though, because I was afraid others would mess the whole story up. Besides, starting a second one is not very creative (assuming the readers have some cultural forum knowledge and read a fanfic or two from the old times

)
Though with all due respect, I'd choose for Swampstorm's project, should he decide to come up with one, since his are usually better planned. So if an event is to be started, people ought to cooperate in order to organize it as well as possible to ensure the participants' ability to go insane and still maintain harmony in relation to each other. Guided chaos, as in starting an event from scratch and improvising your way through, tends to be a flashy downfall of the project unless everyone is wary of their own position in the game world as well as others'.
Extreme example :

Suddenly, all characters decided to attack Zakumon-san, who quickly dodged all attacks and blasted his enemies with a magical explosion, leaving all characters unconscious, and took all of their belongings and infiltrated their minds to find out everything they knew and use that knowledge to become the supreme ruler of the world.
Here, hope you enjoyed it! Now it's your turn folks, submit your stories from this point
This never really happened in any games on this forum, but I've seen something almost as bad on another forum I was on for about two months. Of course, something like that requires us to have our own Zakumon74, who has absolutely no idea how to play a forum RPG, and for now we don't have anyone to fill in (luckily). What I am afraid of is that people might slowly start going down that path, that's where game rules jump in, and those require a lot of preliminary work.

hmm i dunno, RPGs tend to get too one sided unless it has been really well moded, there also seems to be a lot of offtopic talks rather than on topics,
well i base this one the ones we already have

RPG's in the past were organized by a few dedicated forum members, and everyone had plenty of fun. But that was back in the days when 4cat reigned this board with might, magic and vile sabotage. If we can get someone creative and drown him in power, the project could skyrocket straight through the roof. In theory...
